Please note the difference between an Emotional Support Dog (ESD) a Psychiatric Support Dog (PSD) and a true SERVICE DOG (and persons with physical disability that need at home assistance only, an Assistance Dog (AD). )The first two (ESD and PSD) have not been TRAINED to assist the disabled person...even though a very valid service is rendered. Many dogs are able to provide support even if they have not been TRAINED to provide a service. This group is only for those who are ACTIVELY TRAINING their dog to provide a very specific assistance tasks that are directly related to their disability. For a definition of a "physical task", "individually trained" and examples of tasks performed by different kinds of service/assistance dogs, Click Here. We do not assist in the training of SUPPORT Dogs. For a list of support dog organizations, Click Here (link under construction)
